Safe, scalable and economical drone operations are becoming reality in Hamburg!

Aero EDIH’s representative, Rasmus Lundqvist, took part in the UAM Fieldtrip during the European U-Space Stakeholders Network, organised by EUROCONTROL.

The €3.67M BLU-Space project, funded by BMDW, is testing U-space integration for complex drone flights in the Hamburg Port. With Frequentis as SCISP and HHLA Sky as USSP, the project showcases how digital infrastructure enables real-world operations.

One use case: Morpheus, a German drone operator, transports blood samples between hospitals using the HHLA Sky U-space services.

The tour also featured Hamburg Police, Hamburg Port Authority, and LSBG (State Office for Roads, Bridges and Waters) demonstrating how drones support daily operations — an excellent example of collaboration between city, authorities, and tech providers.
